We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing worldwide. Our activities include all aspects: exploration, mining, processing and blending, shipping, marketing, and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
Job DescriptionAs Materials Analyst you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Support specific safety, health, and sustainability opportunities and risks and ensure that materials and planning activities comply with all Safety, Health, and environmental requirements.Perform regular risk assessments and raise any risks/issues immediately.Comply with relevant policies and standards to achieve gold-standard contractor safety performance.Performance and Delivery

Implement the Materials Plan to meet end-user requirements and ensure optimal inventory levels.Conduct reliable MRP analysis and forecasting models to inform regional category decisions.Promote adherence to the standards and guidelines for inventory management.Execute the fulfilment modes for material segments/items.Support the working capital optimisation opportunities for execution, e.g. disposal of excess and obsolete stock.Carry out effective MRP activities, such as backorders, stockouts, material reservations, exceptions, excess stock, availability, shortfalls, etc., to meet end-user requirements at optimal inventory levels.Adhere to the standards and guidelines for inventory management.Execute the fulfilment modes for material segments/items.Upload the correct master data parameters for new and existing items.Raise visibility of optimisation opportunities for execution, e.g., excess and obsolete stock disposal.Update MRP system parameters (min and max reorder point) weekly based on information analysis.Escalate issues like supplier late delivery, emergency orders, etc.Planning
Adhere to the inventory optimisation plans and schedules and execute relevant activities promptly and clearly.Sustainability and Social
Support inventory optimisation initiatives to minimise wastage at the operations and minimise Anglo American’s carbon footprint.Support the implementation of network optimisation opportunities to guide logistics providers in reducing transportation frequency, which also contributes to a positive environmental impact.Commercial Value Delivery
Actively undertake research, broad scanning, benchmarking and best practice analysis to produce better results.Provide necessary analytical support required for proper MRP planning and inventory control.Support the roll-out of the Anglo American Operating Model and cross-site best practice sharing, to leverage tangible working capital benefits.Relationship Management

Ensure personal and team compliance with all Physical Supply Chain Management activities' internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance requirements.Ensure personal and team compliance with the applicable legislative requirements of all Physical SupplyChain Management activities in the set portfolio.This role is in the Supply Chain (SC) at a Band 7 level reporting to the Section Manager MRP.
QualificationsGrade 12A relevant qualification in Supply Chain/Procurement or a related discipline on NQF5.Advantegous: A relevant National Diploma in Supply Chain/Procurement or a related discipline on NQF6.SA Drivers LicenceExperience
3-5 years of experience working in a complex environment and managing multiple internal and external stakeholder perspectives.Knowledge of demand algorithms and statistical models, and the analysis thereof.Additional InformationWho are we?
