**Job Description:**
Position Overview
The Material Specialist III is responsible for receives, moves, locates, pulls, ships, and counts inventory in a variety of locations and performs all necessary software transactions. Ensures accurate inventory and material processes are followed. Attends to the material requests from Production or other personnel.
Essential Job Functions
· Receiving and Receiving Inspection
o Receives in Oracle according to documented procedures. Sorts and counts goods. Records receiving information.
o Processes purchase order receipt, work order component issue and work order receipt in Oracle for sub-contract purchased items.
o Ensure documentation is complete for finance/accounts payable upon receipt.
o Files POs/Receipts and audits POs/Receipts for compliance to documented procedures.
o Performs physical and administrative inventory control duties, such as receiving, storing and issuing raw materials, parts, subassemblies, supplies and equipment.
o Records of damaged or defective items and any other discrepancies in QMS (Quality Management System).
o Identifies proper location for goods received and ensures accurate put away.
o May load or unload material, equipment, merchandise or supplies from trucks or vehicles.
· Inventory Control, Subassembly Production, and Shipping
o Coordinates and keeps track of disposition of non-conforming materials within the warehouse.
o Oversees cycle-counts of materials locations.
o Ensures that components, supplies, labels, subassemblies, and/or products are labeled correctly before being dispensed/distributed.
o Ensures that CER (Clean Environmental Room) is sufficiently supplied with required components and that Kanban is filled and maintained consistently.
o May prepare kitting packages and perform kit audits. May reject damaged goods or materials, correspond with appropriate party and prepare documentation to adjust for damages or shortages. Verifies and maintains all supporting documentation.
o May physically transfer material, equipment, kits, and supplies required for internal/external customers. Maintains free/floor stock and handles completed assemblies between work areas. Where necessary, locate and transfer parts within the facility. Verifies and maintains associated stock records, logs, and other documentation.
o Interfaces with other functional areas to provide information on material status, such as stock balances, coordinate shortages, etc. May investigate shortages/out of balance conditions. Take appropriate corrective action. Maintains necessary files and documentation.
o Prepares shipments according to documented Shipping Request forms.
o Processes international shipments of finished products to offsite clinical and commercial locations.
o Participates in developing/updating procedures.
Requirements
· High school diploma with 4-6 years of materials and/or manufacturing-related experience is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet/database software is required.
· Ability to utilize both manual and integrated software ERP systems. Oracle experience is highly preferred.
· Ability to read and comprehend written instructions (e.g., safety manuals, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) & WIs (Work Instructions)) is required.
· Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements is preferred.
· There may be continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day).
· Employees are required to lift objects up to 25lbs or more.
· Good organizational skills, attention to details, and follow-through skills are preferred.
· Good verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities is preferred.
