Material Planner Supervisor

Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Role:** A Material Planner Supervisor leading a team responsible for ensuring timely and efficient material flow to support manufacturing operations. In this role, the supervisor manages a team based in Mexico that supports Caterpillar’s U.S. Decatur facility, coordinating closely with both U.S. and Mexican suppliers. The team oversees procurement planning, inventory control, and supplier performance to maintain production continuity and meet customer demands. Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills are essential, as the team operates across borders and time zones. The supervisor also drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs. **What it Will Do:** + Supervising Logistics Planning Analyst (LPA) / Global Shared Services + Responsible for supplier shipping performance (SSP), past due schedules & clean to ship (CTB) execution + Coordinating with multiple functions, such as manufacturing, procurement, transportation etc., to acquire appropriate requirements to meet day-to-day activities and accuracy standards. + Ensuring that the environment of the inventory stockroom is in line with the requirements for each product. + Managing staffing, development, and performance management of materials management workers. Ensuring proper labor relations. + Defining and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Performing inventory analysis and making recommendations for stock levels. + Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; implementing loss prevention procedures and practices. + Participating in planning inventory and defining optimal inventory levels and adjustment authority; monitoring inventory levels. **Education Requirement:** + Bachelor’s degree is related to Supply Chain or equivalent. + Advanced and Strong English (Verbal and Written) **What skills the ideal candidate will have:** **Supply Chain Management:** + Detailed understanding of ERP systems and functionality + Manage/analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to spot trends and improvement opportunities + Supplier Management: Assurance of Supply (AoS) risks, escalations, and collaborations + Ensure inventory accuracy to effectively manage cost + Maintain Supply Chain business partnerships (Operations / Logistics / Procurement / Transportation) + Develop and follow standard work **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** + Prioritize Team’s workload to meet customer requirements + Assist in assessing risks and reducing team constraints + Alternate Source / Peak Shave / Work Done Outside (WDO) + Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas **Logistics Management:** + Understanding of Transportation Network, expedited freight options and customs requirements + Monitor and maintain visibility of all shipments and related documentation + Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks **Top Candidate Will Have:** + APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired + Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills + Solid logistics and manufacturing knowledge + Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills + Excellent teamwork and leadership skills + Strong supplier relationship management skills + The ability to develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems + Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially supplier-focused Caterpillar initiatives **Additional information:** + Your work schedule is Monday-Friday, subject to change if necessary + This position will be in Santa Catarina + This position will have 5% of domestic and international travel + Don’t forget to include a resumé in English in your profile in Workday​ + Sponsorship for foreign candidates aren´t available + Domestic Relocation assistance is not available for this position. **Final details** Please frequently check the email associated with your application, including the junk/spam folder, as this is the primary correspondence method.
