RESPONSIBILITY:
Independently manage material availability, optimize inventory levels, and ensure continuous supply to production. This role interfaces with suppliers, leads planning initiatives, and supports ERP configuration and planning analytics.
JOB DUTIES:
+ Own and manage MRP forecasts, production requirements, inventory, and procurement signals to ensure production readiness.
+ Analyze and escalate the BOM and commodity requirements, considering engineering changes and timing.
+ Maintain ERP system parameters (material master, lead times, EOQ, reorder points) and ensure alignment with supply chain capabilities.
+ Validate supplier CQI’s and ISO certs annually, and support audits and compliance reporting.
+ Coordinate ramp-up and ramp-down plans for new product launches and engineering changes.
+ Manage safety stock levels, optimize order quantities, and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
+ Provide detailed reports and insights (clear-to-build, material coverage, run-out, scenario planning).
+ Lead or co-lead ERP system projects related to planning configuration and continuous improvement.
+ Build supplier partnerships and serve as the primary point of contact for delivery performance and recovery actions.
+ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners.
+ Key team member in planning, training, implementation, and support of a new ERP system.
+ Create and deploy supply requirements to the supply base via MRP which achieves production, inventory, and cost objectives. Ensure demand from all sources (production, aftermarket, engineering, etc.) is supported appropriately.
+ Escalate to commercial or technical partners when required (procurement, accounts payable, quality, engineering, etc.).
Support onboarding and training of new suppliers to ensure operational excellence and compliance with McGard’s supply chain processes and policies.
EDUCATION / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
+ Associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
+ Two to four (2-4) years of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement.
+ Certification in APICS, Purchasing or Supply Chain is preferred.
