This job posting is for 2nd shift, initially working a schedule of Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, and then a rotational schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off one week, and 3 days on, 4 days off the following week when the plant moves to a 7-day operation.  Work hours are generally 1:40 p.m. to approximately 11:00 p.m./midnight.  The base rate of pay is $22.55/hour, plus a shift premium of $1.00/hour. Team members must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as needed.  This position is eligible for overtime pay.   

 

Job Responsibilities: 

Operates PIT/forklift in a safe and efficient manner 

Ensures the correct spices are available at the appropriate time to the Blender Control Operator 

Ensures all loads being received are individually weighed prior to making stickers 

Inspects for damaged bags/pallets prior to checking in each pallet to the cooler 

Ensures the product being offloaded is received in using the correct SAP number and is entered into Safety Chain 

Ensures all pallets issued out are done on a “first in, first out (FIFO)” basis, have a sticker, and are scanned out to the appropriate process order 

Stays in constant communication with the Blender Control Operator to avoid any confusion with the product that is being formulated 

All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to personal safety and food safety 

Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations 

Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT) 

Forklift/Mule/PIT experience preferred, but not required, as training and certification is provided) - required to become forklift certified within 30 days of starting position 

Basic computer skills to navigate systems and perform data entry 

Experience with inventory control methods preferred 

Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures 

Ability to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division 

Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed 

Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management 

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness 

Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as needed 

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves 

Performs other duties as assigned 

 

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation 

Must be willing and able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level 

The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach above, below, and at shoulder level   

The Team Member will use both arms/hands and legs/feet to operate forklifts or electric pallet and hand jacks 

The Team Member will work while standing or walking on hard floors for a period of up to 8-10 hours/day 

The Team Member will climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas and to work at elevated levels and various heights and in confined spaces, as needed 

The Team Member will work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold/freezing, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas 

The Team Member will perform repetitive motions, flex/grip with wrists/hands, and use tools (e.g., box knife, metal scraper) 

 

Job Requirements: 

At least three (3) months of forklift/PIT operation experience.   

At least six (6) months of continuous employment with one employer in the past two (2) years.
