Job Description

Performs safe operation and routine handling of material.  Ships, receives, stocks, delivers, and inventories.

 

Responsibilities:

Health & Safety:  Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems.  Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required. 

ELS:  Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process. Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Teamwork:  Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility.  Contribute and participate in team decision making.  Provide support in project work and other special requests.

Managing inventory by stocking and cataloging products for a business

Performing quality checks on stored inventory and discarding inventory that does not meet the company’s standards

Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records

Reporting discrepancies in inventory

Load, unload and convey materials using hand truck or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.

Moves and stores a variety of materials, parts or products. 

Checks incoming materials and reports shortages or damaged materials. 

Transfers materials between departments, using hand or power truck. 

Prepares materials for production, including lamination and cutting.

Fills orders from storage areas and delivers to designated departments. 

Stacks pallets, arranges materials as directed and adheres to safety guidelines in performing such work. 

Open containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information.  

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.  

2+ years experience in material handling including the operations of powered material handling equipment preferred.

Broad range of knowledge on site operations, inventory and materials control management.

Able to follow oral and written instructions.

Strong listening and communication skills.

Experience with data entry, inventory and math skills.

Good organization and attention to detail.

Executes cycle counting procedures to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Ability to perform calculations related to inventory, pricing, and discounts.

Comfortable using computers and navigating software applications.

Working knowledge of Google Suite programs is a plus.
