The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Material Handler I in the Slide Assembly Department. This position is responsible for quality and maintaining the highest standards in compliance within company policies, procedures and all applicable regulations. Accountable for adhering to all EHS guidelines. 

This position is located in Rochester, NY.

Work Schedule: “Firemen’s Rotation”:  Two 12 hour days (6:00am-6:00pm) followed by two 12 hour nights (6:00pm-6:00am)

The Responsibilities

Pull production Materials and deliver to production line.

Transport finished lots to conditioning rooms using powered tugger.

Perform SAP Transactions to support material movements.

Deliver samples to test lab.

Manage empty transport equipment, i.e. carriers/carts.

Maintain 5S of storage areas.

Participate in Safety walks.

Support Stock Keepers as needed.

Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of warehousing experience.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to use computerized systems.

GED/High School Diploma.

Basic Math

Additional Skills:

Forklift certification.

SAP Experience.

Safety Team Experience.

Key Working Relationships

Internal Partners: Maintenance, Engineering, Quality

External Partners: Suppliers

Work Environment

Temperature: Working in a Freezer at 0*F  approximately 30% of the time. Ambient of 70* and 50% humidity

Location: Inside a manufacturing building

Workspace: On Site

Physical Demands

Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The hourly range for this position is $17.00 to $19.50 hourly. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays.
