Responsibilities This position is a general labor position and is responsible for using a forklift to move finished product around the facility. It may also include the use of a pallet jack to load and unload materials and finished goods. The position will include loading and unloading trucks, warehouse maintenance and housekeeping and completion of daily paperwork. This position will work with Operations to ensure they receive the products and materials needed to keep the production lines running. Accountabilities: Safety 1st, follow all safety requirements including wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as prescribed for each work activity or job. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions/safety concerns and injuries immediately to the Shift Lead, Supervisor, Operations Manager or HR. Meet performance requirements in a fast-paced environment. Drive stand-up forklift/walkie truck. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Uses computer to enter records.
