Material Handler
1st Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm- $19.00/hr (18.50/hr) 2nd Shift: Sunday-Thursday 9:30am-6:00pm- $12.00/hr (19.50/hr) Responsible for checking all inbound and outbound products. Picking and Packing Flu Vaccines/ Medicines Ensures products are free of damage and infestation, product code dates are properly recorded and products match customer requirements. Primary Duties: Load product physically onto equipment, pallets or totes more than 20% of specified shift. Put-away and pick product for shipment or stock. Insure the exact number and type of products, ordered by the customer, are checked and loaded correctly. Compare the quantity, quality, labeling, and address with the customer’s order to ensure outgoing product shipments are complete and correct . Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitors power source as necessary. Verify and report discrepancies such as non-available products and OS&D. Maintain the facility and the facility’s equipment in a neat, clean, orderly fashion. Inspect all operated equipment daily. Complete daily inspection of equipment. Assist in physical inventories. Perform other duties as assigned by management and the customer. Key Relationships: Peers-Work with peers in order to complete warehouse functions accurately. Group Coord Lead-Receive work assignments and training. Management-Receive direction for adhering to company policies, practices, and procedures. Qualifications: Essential - High school diploma or equivalent. Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program is required within the first 30 days of employment. Desirable-- Six months warehouse experience. Six months forklift operation experience. Knowledge/Skills: Essential--Ability to spend 20% of time physically loading product onto equipment, pallets or totes. Working knowledge of warehouse management system equipment. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work specified shifts for set wages. Ability to understand and follow work procedures and safety rules. Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions. Ability to identify and locate products which requires reading, counting, accurately performing simple math calculations, and printing product code on applicable documents. Working Conditions: Occasional (3-33%) - climbing, kneeling, walking. Frequent (34-66%) - pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying (max 100 lbs). Constant (67-100%) - sitting, standing, vision (Near, far, peripheral), Operation of equipment (Forklift, tugger and other power equipment). Overall work environment is 90% inside and 10% outside.
