Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler to join the Wattstopper Team in Richardson, TX. The Material Handler receives shipments and ensures raw materials and components are staged for production.
What Will You Do?
Load and unload materials within a warehouse or storage facility utilizing hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts and shelves by handPull, pre-stage, and supply required materials (raw materials, sub assembly, purchased parts) to work centers accurately and within timeframe requiredIdentifies, transports, packs, removes, and disposes of materialRead pick tickets (work orders) follow instruction to ascertain materials to be shippedMake sure all materials are labeled correctlyPerform applicable quality checks and document resultsPerform basic maintenance activitiesUse scanning equipment to receive, move, and ship product from the inventory management systemMake sure work area is clean and organized, free from food, waste, trash and any hazard that may cause an injuryMust wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies and practicesMust be able to work a flexible work schedule to include SaturdaysMust be capable of communicating with other employees about issues that arisePerform cycle count program when needed and participate in annual full physical inventory count.Assist Material Handler I/II/III in work assignments and coordinate activities of logistics agency personnelEnter work orders using a computer into JDE.Must be accountable for one’s conduct of department.Communicate daily with the Manufacturing Manager, Lead Person, and/or Production Scheduler important information such as- Changes in schedule
- Damaged or broken equipment
- Paperwork accuracy
- Any situation that will influence operations relative to safety, quality, and costAdditional responsibilities may arise through the development of the above listed itemsPerform other duties as requested by Management/Supervisor/Lead Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Two years warehouse general experience
