Position: Material Handler
Location: Jefferson, TX Wood Reels
Pay Rate: $20.37 / HR
Shift: 1st Shift, 7a-3p, with some OT

Summary:

While reporting to the shift supervisor as the Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely handling all products and materials.

This position is responsible for safe and accurate transfer of materials and finished goods to their proper locations.

Responsibilities:
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure proper lifting techniques are used
• Promptly report any injuries or illnesses
• Safely operate fork trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
• Deliver raw materials, finished products and packaging to designated areas
• Assist in the training of new employees
• Maintain accurate records and logs for inventory control and reporting
• Collaborate with co-workers to ensure smooth workflow
• Contribute to team meetings and provide suggestions on how to improve processes and productivity

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Basic math skills
• Physically able to perform tasks such as but not limited to; heavy lifting, bending and twisting
• Able to work overtime as required (both during the week and on call)
• Available to work flexible hours/shifts as needed
• Familiarity with material handling equipment
• Strong organizational skills
