MATERIAL HANDLER 1

Description:
•
Load and unload materials into or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves using ladders, pallet jack or manually as applicable.
•
Conveys materials to or from staging or manufacturing areas, using carts, dollies or other devices.
•
Dispatches reorders of materials requested by manufacturing and production work orders, if necessary, or as per established schedule prepared by the Production/Materials Planner or Manufacturing Supervisor.
•
Counts, weighs and updates records of all raw materials received at the staging area or issued to production areas.
•
Inputs daily transactions on the Oracle system, including to maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts and inventory adjustment as required.
•
Fills in required information on work orders, material requisition list, and other documentation.
•
Issues all processing supplies to all production areas to maintain a continuous flow of production.
•
Submits to Cost Accountant the appropriate inventory adjustment documents.
•
Maintains all raw materials properly identified with Part Numbers, Description, Lot Number, Quantity, and other required information.
•
Keeps and ensures the adequate storage of raw material.
•
Inform the Supervisor of shortages of materials or lack of materials to avoid downtime on production.
•
Notify the Supervisor of any defects of the material handling equipment or need of other equipment.
•
Prioritize dispatch of work orders to meet production schedule.
•
Maintains a constant flow of work orders in the production process in order to maintain a constant flow of production and maximize use of human resources, machinery, etc.
•
Maintain the area organized and clean in order to avoid accidents or hazardous conditions.
•
Operates pallet jack and hand truck if necessary to move, convey, or hoist shipment from any areas to storage or work area. May drive company van to transport products or materials when required.
•
When required, coordinates and/or participates in annual physical inventory.
•
Performs other related manufacturing business support duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•
High School Diploma or equivalent education with 1 to 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing staging and/or warehouse area in an FDA regulated environment.
•
Knowledge of inventory management is strongly required.
•
Ability to read and understand manufacturing related documents (Drawings, SOP’s, Work Orders, etc.) in Spanish and English.
•
Driver’s license on heavy vehicles is a plus.
•
Computer skills (Ex: Outlook and Microsoft Office); Oracle knowledge preferred.
•
Organized and fast learner
Flexible and available to work in different shifts as per business needs (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th shifts)
Clarification Note: 4th shift covers Saturdays & Sundays from 5am to 5pm plus two days (8 hours) during the week
Availability to work overtime as per business needs
Previous work experience in manufacturing medical devices and/or pharma environment
cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) & GDP (Good Documentation Practices) fundamental knowledge
Prior exposure to manufacturing clean room and able to use clean room gowning attire
Able to handle chemical solvents and adhesives

**Pay Details:** $10.50 per hour
