As part of the Material Flow Engineering (MFE) team you will operate in many spaces such as new model programs to complete future program analysis and studies, program management, equipment procurement and implementation, support production launch milestones and events, and take part in continuous improvement actions, Gemba walks, and kaizen.
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s Degree2 or more years of materials or operations experience (relevant internship/co-op experience will be considered)

What you’ll be able to do:
Manage the flow of materials through the facility to support production flows within the production and warehousing operationsProvide engineering support for material flow process; document standards and procedures, provide training, overall adherence, and maintenance to ensure materials are available in designated stock, markets, and line locations throughout the facilityWork with Planning & Inventory Control, Production, Material Handlers, and Supply Chain to ensure robust policies are available and practiced, and strive for continuous improvementApply technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and limited job experience, in the development of material flow processesDesigns and/or develops material flow processes and equipmentRecommend changes to increase safety, reduce costs, improve quality, and optimize efficiencyParticipate in plant layout activitiesDevelop floor space analyses to confirm storage requirements and recommend practical solutions where requiredAssist in qualifying manual and powered material handling equipment requirementsWork to improve material flow and manage materials and inventory consistently with Lean principlesLay out market, sequencing, and kitting areas to facilitate material handling, process flow, space utilization, and laborDefine and manage in-plant storage and call systems to maintain inventories; assists in defining appropriate goals and metrics for proper material controlProvide vehicle and pedestrian flow/congestion/safety analyses and recommend practical solutions where requiredInteract regularly with other functional groups and vendors on technical and/or administrative mattersWork with Production, Production Control, Supply Chain, Quality and other engineering departmentsPrepare detailed plans, generally spanning several months, vital to complete assigned projectsDevelop and approve schedule milestonesDevelop and coordinate labor, facility and equipment requirements for assigned projectsPropose alternate plans for economic evaluationAdminister technical procedures, including process and work proceduresImplement an industrial engineering system (standard cost data, capacity and equipment requirement forecasting, shop floor control system)Travel to Ontario, Canada up to 25% to support launch activities
