Position Summary
Thales Canada Defense & Security (TCDS) is looking for a Material Demand Manager. As a Material Demand Manager, you will be the Head of Discipline (HoD) responsible for Supply Support across the organization. They are also the Resource Manager for the Supply Support team.
This role is also responsible and accountable to the Director, Supply Chain for material availability in support of TCDS programs. Finally, you will be responsible for maintenance of materials data and the Material Master as well as interfacing with our Customer, Engineering, and Procurement teams to translate material requirements into Service Delivery results.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The main responsibilities are:
As a Resource Manager:
Provides appropriate resources to deliver bids, projects and products. Plans the team’s workload in the short, medium and long term. Develops team skills to support bids, projects and products. Supports recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career management and succession planning for the team. Coaches, mentors and develops the team. Leads the team to meet company expectations for productivity, chargeability, quality, continuous improvement and accomplishment of objectives. Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed, including timesheets, time off, and travel.
As a Head of Discipline:
Responsible for the establishment, standardization and evolution of processes, procedures and tooling for the discipline and sub-disciplines. Ensures that the discipline and sub-discipline processes, procedures and tooling meet the current and future needs of the bids, projects and products. Responsible for development of lessons learned and the sharing of knowledge and experience across the discipline and sub-disciplines. Responsible for bid, project and product estimates for the discipline and sub-disciplines as appropriate.
As Supply Support Manager:
Translates Engineering material requirements into actionable items that can be procured (Material parts, BOMs, Jobs, STTE, pack up kits, asset management). Updates material and BOM data when new information is discovered in the field. Owns material masters. Provides Cataloging interface to DND, and performs materials creation within Thales systems. Materials scheduling and coordination for Ship maintenance work (CM, PM, ECs). Expediting of material to meet demands. Coordination of delivery dates with Ship SWP requirements. Materials coordination for R&O work, e.g. batteries. Accurate and timely Sales Order execution (entry and tracking, RFQ coordination, Customer receipt, demand generation). Provides IDE support for material data interfaces and maintenance (e.g. MAXIMO setup). Service Delivery materials data contact for IDE. Key interface to the Customer’s materials team (D Mar P). Responsible for material data alignment between systems. Performs order, invoice, and inventory reconciliation when required. Participates in KPI3 metric on AJISS program. Implements MRP levels for all programs as required, either with the Customer’s or internal Thales MRP systems. Service Delivery interface to Procurement and Engineering materials teams. Member of MRB material disposal team
Minimum Qualifications
University degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Science, Engineering, Purchasing or possesses equivalent relevant experience in a similar field. Previous 3-5 years of experience or strong foundational knowledge working in manufacturing: Supply Chain/Inventory Management/Procurement. Previous experience in negotiation, showcasing a proven ability to secure favorable terms and agreements through effective persuasion and strategic discussions. Experience and a thorough understanding of end-to-end supply chain and procurement activities, acquired through firsthand, practical work experience. Previous knowledge and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

Total Target Cash (TTC): 92,122.85 - 124,508.52 - 155,341.05 CAD AnnualThis reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many.
