Material Control Coordinator
Description We are looking for a Material Control Coordinator to join the team of a company located in Louisville, Kentucky. In this Contract-to-Hire position, you will play a critical role in managing inventory, overseeing purchasing activities, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role demands attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety standards. The hours for the Materials Control Coordinator are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Responsibilities: • Manage inventory assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Execute purchasing activities, including placing orders, monitoring vendor sites for updates, and processing returns. • Process sales and parts orders across regions, ensuring timely fulfillment. • Coordinate shipments, including preparing necessary documentation such as Bills of Lading and hazardous materials paperwork. • Inspect inventory orders for quality, completeness, and security prior to shipment. • Maintain accurate records for explosive shipments, including log books and monthly inventory counts. • Support warehouse operations by analyzing reorder points, replenishing stock, and participating in physical inventory audits. • Handle product returns by managing documentation, warranty claims, and follow-ups to ensure proper credits are received. • Update inventory systems with new part numbers, pricing changes, and vendor information as required. • Periodically transport inventory items to nearby locations for delivery or pickup Requirements • Proven experience in inventory management and tracking. • Strong skills in order entry, fulfillment, and purchase order processing. • Ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure timely deliveries. • Familiarity with handling hazardous materials and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and conducting inventory audits. • Proficiency in data entry and using inventory systems. • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities to support team operations. • Valid driver's license for occasional transportation of items. • Safety shoes/steel toe shoes required.
