Material Characterization Scientist

Job Title: Material Characterization Scientist
Location: Morris County NJ (Greater Randolph, NJ area)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities Provide analytical chemistry support for R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams Perform wet chemistry and instrumental analysis of coatings and raw materials Develop, validate, and establish in-house analytical testing and characterization methods Collaborate on research projects, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports Expand analytical capabilities and investigate new methodologies Manage multiple projects and lead/train junior scientists Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and cleanliness standards Monitor industry trends and leverage best practices Work independently and as part of cross-functional teams Requirements BS or MS in Chemistry or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience  Expertise in analytical and material characterization techniques. Proven skills in method development and validation Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities Experience with coatings preferred Familiarity with LIMS, lab automation, and digital tools a plus Key Techniques that you will work with!
HPLC MS, GC MS, Ultraviolet Spectroscopy (UV), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Mass Spectrometry, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM),  Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), thermal analysis, Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) or Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC).
