Job Description

About the Team:
Develop long-term planning schedules based off customer contracts provided by Sales.  Backup for Production scheduler developing Master Production Schedule for maintaining planned production to meet operating plan for inventory and sales based upon customer requirements and sales forecasts.

 

What you can look forward to as Master Scheduler:

Develop Master Production Schedules (MPS) for product lines using input from customer production schedules and sales forecasts. Analyze the material requirements plan and perform “Rough-Cut” capacity checks to insure the MPS has a high probability for success. Review MPS / “Rough Cut” capacity analysis and Production Variance reports with Business Unit Teams to insure production plans are in place to meet both customer and operating plans.   Monitor production launches, phase outs and engineering changes to ensure production plans to meet customer deliverables and minimize material obsolescence. Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment and be available after hours if required. Develop 18 month production forecast utilized for planning and capacity evaluation in monthly Capacity Planning review meeting. Develop monthly Sales Short Term Look (STL) to ensure accurate sales forecast. Monitor EDI communiques from customers. Notify management of customer issues affecting the Manufacturing Plan and Sales. Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures. Participate in Production Meetings to analyze and review shipment needs and issues within the manufacturing of products which includes production, quality, scrap and effectiveness.   Complete tasks assigned from those meetings including gathering data for evaluation. Analyze finished goods inventory targets and maintains through buildouts, reflash, rework. Add all new part numbers in specific product groups. Work with maintenance/engineering groups on planning for line downtime. Escalate to Sales departments on any discrepancies between customer contracts vs. actual orders.

 

Your profile as Master Scheduler:

Associates degree or Bachelors degree in related field is preferred. 3-5 years in production planning or related experience. MRP System Planning experience in SAP. Proficient Microsoft Office Excel skills.
