Master Electrician
Job Summary

Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment through cleaning and general maintenance under the direction of a supervisor. Performs expert level preventive maintenance and services on various electrical systems and specialty equipment as needed. Assists the department in achieving safety, quality, cost, on-time delivery and continuous improvement metrics and acts as a source of expertise for the department. Participates in the overall building management program to provide high quality, cost effective service with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction. Organizes, allocates and provides oversight for the daily electrical systems distribution and specialty repair assignments. Responsible for pulling permits from authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) as needed.
 

Essential Functions

Coordinates and schedules the daily workgroup activities for all licensed electrical operations. Assigns and adjusts work schedules as necessary. In collaboration with the other maintenance departments, coordinates maintenance activities, addresses scheduling issues, resolves problems and communicates schedule changes as appropriate. Communicates and collaborates with the supervisor, customer, and other trades and sub-contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost effective maintenance with continuity and coordination of services.

Performs expert level electrical maintenance including the assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of conduit, junction boxes, and fixtures of lighting, power, and other electrical systems, according to specifications and electrical codes. Measures, cuts, and installs conduit, wire, and fittings using hand and power tools. Inspects and tests the finished work of apprentices and provides mentoring and work direction as needed.

Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Acts as a resource related on specialty trade projects including scheduled infrastructure planned outages, problem resolution, handling complaints and providing technical expertise to the workgroup, other departments and to outside services.

Maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the Plant Operations team to effectively meet departmental objectives. Collaborates with other Leads to exchange best practices across Facilities and maintain positive working relationships with other functional areas. Coaches the workgroup to ensure they are trained appropriately and following standard operating procedures. Encourages the team to strive for the core values of excellence, integrity, respect, teamwork, and innovation.

Plans and implements preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on key equipment. Tracks results of all preventative maintenance activities and takes ownership for effectiveness of entire process through work-order systems. Performs comprehensive preventive maintenance and services on various infrastructure systems and specialty equipment.

Acquires and maintains an appropriate inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment to meet the needs of the department in a cost effective and efficient manner. Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keep work areas orderly, clean and safe. Reviews project blueprints to identify any special needs, revisions or problems and communicate with the appropriate engineer/designer.

Ensures that all electrical services are provided in accordance with legal specifications, electrical codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

10 years of trade experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities with two years within a healthcare setting

LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan

LIC-Electrician, Master - STATE_MI State of Michigan

Preferred

Supervisory experience
