The PositionThe Department/Team
In the department of antibody development within the Roche Diagnostics division in Penzberg, our expert team is dedicated to providing best-in-class diagnostic antibodies for established and novel biomarkers in key disease areas such as cancer, heart diseases, and infectious diseases. We are looking to strengthen our group with a team-oriented individual in the field of molecular biology, who eagerly embraces new challenges and brings innovative solutions to monoclonal antibody development.
Your Key Responsibilities/Position
Your tasks include RNA isolation from B-cell lysates, production of cDNA, and qPCR of heavy chain and light chain IgG sequences
You undertake cloning, plasmid preparation, and quality analyses, specifically sequence analyses, of antibody constructs
You plan antibody expression formats and carry out subcloning steps and transient expressions of antibodies
You plan the aforementioned process steps and carry them out independently using (fully) automated systems in high throughput in the areas of molecular biology and cell culture in an independent manner
You work independently on process optimizations and support the development of digital solutions for corresponding laboratory processes.
You prepare the evaluation and documentation of your work in protocols and project reports.
You maintain databases for process planning and documentation.
You work in close collaboration with other groups within the department.
Who you are
You have successfully completed a master's degree (university of applied sciences) in biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a similar field
Your studies focused on molecular biological and microbiological work as well as cell culture; knowledge in antibody development, immunology and (next-generation) sequencing is advantageous
You have initial experience in project documentation and planning
You are proficient in molecular biological methods (e.g., RT-PCR, cloning, transfections) as well as the corresponding analytical methods (e.g., PCR and sequence analyses)
Digital data evaluation is part of your daily routine in the laboratory
Ideally, you have a strong interest in laboratory automation
You enjoy working in a team and are enthusiastic about learning new things
Your strengths lie in communication, problem-solving skills, and adaptability
You plan and work independently and responsibly
Your English skills enable you to ensure good communication in an international environment
This position is limited to 2 years.
