Summary

Provides professional therapeutic massage and massage modalities per the client's individualized needs. Provides educational services regarding the benefits of massage and impact on overall health. In conjunction with client preferences and needs, makes recommendations to maximize therapeutic outcomes. Delivers services per Parkview Health policy and American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP).

Education

Must be a graduate of a massage therapy school or program of 625 hours as of July 1, 2019, or 550 hours if a graduate before July 1, 2019.

Licensure/Certification

Must hold or be eligible to receive a Massage Therapist license in the state where services will be provided. Must maintain all certifications and licenses according to the expiration date. National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) or American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP). Prefer certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). CPR certification within 90 days of hire. If assigned to drive a company vehicle, a valid driver's license is required. If assigned to drive a personal vehicle, proof of insurance is required in addition to a valid driver's license.

Experience

One to three years of experience preferred. Experience with medical massage, stone therapies, or other specialized modalities.
