Salesforce’s Global Field Marketing (GFM) team is at the forefront of driving demand for the Agentic Enterprise and our key products. The Strategy & Operations team works across the GFM team to drive strategic direction, accountability, and consistent, foundational operations. We are seeking a Marketing Strategy & Operations Senior Lead to join GFM’s Strategy & Operations team. As part of the Strategy & Operations team, this individual will help set the foundations and lead the global organization through annual, quarterly and ongoing planning, measurement, forecasting and goal setting. This team member will set the bar for being a collaborative, trusted business partner that can operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. They will bring simplicity while acknowledging the nuances of a complex and scaled go-to-market.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the rhythm of the business for the Global Field Marketing team
Connect into business, product, and marketing rhythms of the business - understanding company goals, identifying key initiatives, and surfacing performance for the marketing organization
Drive evolution and maintenance of marketing strategy as documented in the V2MOM (Salesforce’s strategic planning framework)
Translate marketing plans and performance to business strategy
Create understanding of performance of marketing activities and how they are impacting the targeted outcomes
Drive regular updates, accountability and reporting on stated goals
Define key performance metrics and targets, build reports and dashboards to derive insights into the health of the business, identify areas of weakness, and present improvement recommendations to leadership
Reconcile data driven inputs from budgets, performance data, company and business results, market and competitive intelligence into strategic insights
Deliver through cross functional partnership with budget owners, business owners, analytics, business owners, and other Strategy & Operations teams
Narrative writing (in the style of the Amazon 6-pager,) strategy slides and executive summaries
Forecast - use historical resource and performance data to predict future outcomes
Basic Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
8+ years of professional experience, ideally in marketing strategy/business operations roles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Executive presence and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills
Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of marketing strategy, operations or planning experience, preferably in a technology company
Consulting experience is a plus
Experience with data analysis and financial modeling
Ability to translate complex information into easily consumable insights
Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems
Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrixed environment
Experience with Tableau
