Marketing Manager- Scotland
Location – Glasgow or Edinburgh
Level 3 Assistant Director, reports to Head of Industry Marketing
The opportunity
Based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, the results-driven Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading brand and marketing activities across EY in Scotland, including Financial Services. Working directly with the Scotland Regional Managing Partner, Business Development, and other key stakeholders you will use your market insights, business knowledge and creative thinking to deliver key marketing programmes, that help us build deep client relationships and strengthen our brand in Scotland.
You will have a good knowledge and understanding of the business landscape in Scotland and use your networks to strengthen EY’s reputation and spokespeople’s profiles to help drive revenue growth. You will work with the wider Brand, Marketing and Communications teams to identify where national programmes can be leveraged and adapted to use across activity at a regional level.
You will need to be able to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders across the business. You will have a track record in designing and delivering successful initiatives and campaigns activity tailored to the local market.
The role requires a highly motivated individual, with the ability to work within a team as well as on their own initiative. The successful candidate is likely to have experience working in a B2B and/or services industry marketing role covering all aspects of the marketing mix.
Your key responsibilities
Create and deliver a bold and distinctive marketing plan for EY in Scotland that leverages firm wide programmes and capitalises on the intersection with key industries and government programmes, as well as strengths in working with private and mid-market businesses and financial institutions. Plan and deliver integrated commercial campaigns that contribute to building a positive reputation for EY in Scotland and building relationships with priority accounts, buyers, and influencers. Manage the production and execution of agreed deliverables within timelines and budget; measuring the campaign activities and using insights to enhance and refine activity Working collaboratively with External and Internal communications teams to deliver on key programmes. Working with the Entrepreneur of The Year team and local origination teams to support successful delivery and execution in Scotland. Working collaboratively and effectively with Business Development to deliver on EY and BMC strategic priorities. Pro-actively building your internal and external networks to build market insights, understand best practices and open doors to joint marketing opportunities. Staying up to date with competitor landscape, ongoing trends and best practices and providing insights to stakeholders. Advising leaders and colleagues on opportunities, content & questions relating to all BMC functions and programmes, e.g. specific flagship programmes such as Entrepreneur of The Year. Being part of a UK team which includes other Marketing managers across industries and geographies to harness best practice in the pursuit of enhancing the client experience, strengthening client relationships, and generating demand. Work with EY.COM Editorial Manager (in line with Editorial Board Governance) to ensure content for the EY Scotland business is current, relevant, and compelling with a clear buyer journey. Operational Excellence: ROI reporting, budget, and financial management. Ensure compliance with all EY planning, quality, and risk management processes
Skills and attributes for success
Solid marketing experience including plan development, budget management and stakeholder management. Experience of working in large/matrix organisations, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements. Time and project management skills – highly organised with a sound attention to detail and an ability to deliver to deadlines. A track record of strategic campaign management, producing quality, consistent messages, through all channels. A solid understanding of campaign principles, coupled with a strong commercial drive and the ability to deliver high-value activities that deliver return on investment, ensuring alignment with brand and risk management. Experience in event management and excellent content creation skills. An enthusiastic, can-do approach and a strong team player. The ability to juggle conflicting demands on time and prioritise effectively. A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and demonstrating best practice.
To qualify for the role, you must have
5 years’ experience in marketing programme management in a corporate environment.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience of briefing and working with creative agencies.
