Office Responsibilities: The Communications & Marketing/Strategic Initiatives team at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Marketing and Graphic Design Student Assistant Specialist. We’re looking for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented individual to support initiatives within the Strategic Initiatives department. This position reports to the Director of Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives and is an ideal opportunity for students interested in careers in graphic design, marketing, arts administration, or communications.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

RESPONSIBILITIES Design print and digital materials including event posters, key art, and social media graphics Enter and manage event content in the event registration platform Splash Research and recommend performance and event marketing strategies Assist in video and photo content collection and distribution across digital platforms Order promotional print materials from vendors such as Staples and local print shops Distribute posters in and around Arnhold Hall, Bank Street Theater, and other nearby venues Support guerilla marketing efforts, such as flyering around campus Perform administrative and marketing support duties as assigned


WORK MODE Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (minimum one day per week) and also work some of the time remotely. Position is remote or split-hybrid during the summer.
SALARY RANGE Hourly Rate: $17/hour Hours per Week: 5–20 hours per week
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS Applicants must submit a resume and examples of their design work (digital or print brochure, flyer, or poster) via the application portal.The design work sample should be submitted as an “Other Document” through your application.  Applicants with a Federal Work Study award should submit their FWS award letter. Minimum Qualifications: Strong graphic design skills Experience or demonstrated ability to conduct marketing research and develop outreach strategies Social media marketing experience or high proficiency in social media use Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva Ability to learn new tools such as Splash (event registration platform) Strong proofreading and editing skills Familiarity with or ability to learn The New School’s platforms (Google Suite, Splash, Microsoft Office) Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and the transformative power of the arts and education Preferred Qualifications: Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program Graphic design and social media marketing experience Currently enrolled in a program related to Graphic Design, Marketing, Design Technology, or a related field Recipient of Federal Work Study award
