Market Research Program Manager

We are seeking a Customer Insights Manager with strong market research expertise and strategic thinking to help identify opportunities to delight customers and drive growth across smart home product categories. Must be based in Seattle, WA OR Sunnyvale, CA OR Denver, CO to be considered for this role.

This role is ideal for someone who has led full-cycle research projects, managed vendors, and translated insights into business impact. You’ll work across teams to drive customer engagement, own research initiatives, and help scale insights infrastructure—including an AI-powered repository.

Responsibilities

The Customer Insights Manager will lead multiple market research projects across various stakeholder groups. You will leverage both qualitative and quantitative methods to deeply understand customer behaviors, unmet needs, motivations, and barriers—ultimately identifying opportunities to enhance their lives through smart home technology.

You will lead research initiatives across product areas (e.g., smart lighting, prospective smart home customers), including:

Study strategy and designSurvey writing and programming (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.)Data collection and analysisReport writing and stakeholder presentations

You will also support the development of scalable tools and processes to improve vendor engagement and internal access to insights, including ownership of a research repository migration into an AI-powered search tool.

Market Research Strategy & Design: Develop and implement comprehensive learning plans aligned with business goals. Select appropriate methodologies to address strategic questions.Project Management: Lead and execute full-cycle research projects. Manage external vendors and internal resources to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.Survey Programming & Data Analysis: Write and program surveys using platforms like Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey. Analyze results to extract meaningful insights.Reporting & Communication: Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Present findings to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.Content & Repository Management: Own the migration of historical research into an AI-powered repository for internal access and reuse.Thought Leadership: Proactively identify research opportunities and guide strategic decision-making through insights.

Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field.5–10+ years of professional market research experience and consumer insights experience, including full-cycle project ownership.Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including survey design and data analytics.Experience with research platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects with minimal guidance.Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Self-starter with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.Familiarity with smart home or consumer technology platforms preferred.Experience with Generative AI tools and applications in research workflows preferred.Strategic mindset with a bias for action and operational rigor.Experience with SQL and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.Comfort with both strategic planning and executional tasks.

Work Environment

This position can be based in Seattle, Sunnyvale, or Denver with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring attendance at the office at least twice a week. If converted to a full-time role, the expectation is to return to the office five times a week. Remote work is possible, but relocation may be necessary for conversion opportunities. Work hours are preferably aligned with Pacific Standard Time but may require flexibility for meetings in other time zones.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
