Are you an engaging healthcare finance leader with Chief Financial Officer experience? Hospital Sisters Health System is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead our Central Illinois Market and Physician Enterprise. The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare financial leader that is comfortable managing in a matrix environment with a proven track record in successfully managing all financial operations of a region of multiple acute care and outpatient settings. This leader will hold direct responsibility for the financial operations and be the driver of financial excellence for the market. Additionally, the Market CFO will have strong involvement with the communities they serve. This leader will have dual reporting to the Central Illinois Market President & CEO and the Physician Enterprise President & CEO. The Market CFO will also have matrixed reporting to the HSHS Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer.

Market structure:
• Five Illinois HSHS Hospitals
• HSHS’ Illinois based outpatient physician group
• Based in Springfield, Illinois – relocation to the market is required.

• Base salary with bonus potential
• Salary Range: $334,100 – $393,000
*A successful candidate's placement within the range will be based on several factors including direct healthcare CFO experience, certifications, and education.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
• Ten or more years of accounting and/or finance experience is required; four out of the ten years must be in a hospital system or hospital market setting.
*Backgrounds outside of healthcare will not be considered.
• Master’s degree in finance, business, health care administration, or related field is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
• Experience with an employed physician group and/or ACO is highly preferred.

*In 2023, HSHS entered a new era of healthcare in Decatur. The hospital has begun to implement a modernization plan that features a major infrastructure renovation to update clinical spaces, improve patient room amenities and improve the patient experience. This latest investment, totaling approximately $90 million, will result in the modernization of the clinical space to enable hospital colleagues to continue the Mission of the Hospital Sisters to serve our current patients and future generations. The project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026.

Education QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree in finance, business, health care administration, or related field is preferred. Experience QualificationsTen (10) or more years of accounting and/or finance experience is required; four (4) out of the ten (10) years must be in a hospital system or hospital market setting. Prior experience within a hospital system or hospital market setting as a CFO or Assistant CFO is strongly preferred. Five (5) or more years of formal leadership experience is required.
