What You Can Expect

As a Channel Insights Analyst at Brown-Forman, you will act as a strategic co-pilot and internal consultant in data-based insights for key stakeholders across the organization – including Brand Marketing, Sales and Trade Marketing. Your core mission is to generate valuable insights into markets, channels, competitors, brands and assortments, helping to jointly identify opportunities and risks that support strategic decision-making and supporting the development of effective and convincing performance reports and  sell-in stories.

You will play a crucial role in conducting the analysis and reportings of Brown-Forman’s on-trade, off-trade and e-commerce performance in Germany. By delivering actionable insights, you will contribute to building a deep understanding of shoppers, channels and market dynamics within the organization.

What You Bring to the Table

As a strategic co-pilot for data-driven insights, you will support the Senior Market and Category Insights Manager and internal stakeholders across departments by delivering actionable, relevant and forward-looking analysis and insights. Your responsibilities include:

1. Market & Category Insights

Conduct continuous analysis of market data (e.g. Nielsen, IWSR, YouGov, Drotax, customer portals) across off-trade, on-trade and e-commerce.

Deliver Market Snapshots (Off-Trade, On-Trade, E-Com) to inform the organization about current market performance and identify potentials and challenges.

Identify shopper trends and category dynamics in the German spirits market.

Deliver deep-dive analysis on categories, competitors, retailers and assortments to uncover growth areas and sharpen competitive understanding for strategic and operational decision-making of Brand and Trade Marketing

Share insights and collaborate closely with BBI stakeholders.

2. Driving Growth Through Channel-Specific Insights

Analyze customer and channel performance to identify commercial opportunities.

Provide sell-in stories and performance insights to strengthen customer arguments and supporting Trade Marketing.

Conduct promotion analysis.

Deliver ad-hoc analyses for customer-specific questions beyond standard reporting.

Support Key Account Managers in preparing for customer meetings with tailored insights.

Build a holistic 3-channel view to provide a holistic business context, with a special focus on On-Trade and E-Commerce.

Support the On-Trade & ECom team with in-depth analysis, performance reports and insights to drive the future-oriented agenda and sustainable growth in these channels.

Enhance the utilization of existing On-Trade and E-Commerce tools while driving their continuous improvement, and proactively identify new data sources to gain deeper insights into these channels.

What Makes You Unique

Required Experience & Education:

Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Marketing, Market Research

Experience: At least 2 years experience in Category Management or Sales Analytics
- Good knowledge of Off-Trade channel & customers


Preferred Experience & Education:


Experience:
- First experiences with On-Trade & e-commerce desirable
- Quantitative research skills and understanding of / exposure to qualitative research
 

Job Competencies:

Must Experience:
- BA or comparable work experience
- At least 2 years experience in Category Management or Sales Analytics

- Good German market and off-trade knowledge (consumer, food retail (LEH))

- Business Acumen & entrepreneurial thinking
- Very strong analytical expertise and strategic thinking as well as data literacy

- Confident in preparing and delivering compelling presentations tailored to various stekholders
- Strong oral & written communication in English and German
- Good Google, Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills

- Advanced skills in the use of Nielsen

Preferred Experience:
- First experiences with On-Trade & e-commerce desirable 

- Quantitative research skills and understanding of / exposure to qualitative research
- Excellent Office and Research IT Tools skills
- IT literate, relevant YouGov research applications, Drotax or similar
