Overview:

The Marine Operations Support Manager will provide 24/7 oversight for MPC’s US Gulf Coast based assets and personnel.  The geographic range of Operations includes the Mississippi River from Memphis, TN to New Orleans, LA as well as Intercoastal Waterways from Pensacola, FL to Corpus Christi, TX. This position will be located in Garyville, La. In addition to Operations oversight, this position will also collaborate with support services at MPC/MPLX (i.e. Global Procurement, Logistics, Business Development) to build and maintain a support platform for all MPLX Marine equipment stationed in the US Gulf Coast Region.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for collaborating with MPLX’s Logistics/Commercial organization along with Marine’s Compliance & Assurance group to ensure third party inland marine companies performing services for MPC/MPLX meet company standards/requirements.

Collaborate closely with the Operations Support Manager based in the Midwest to oversee MPLX tankerman performing work in the region as well as identifying growth opportunities for the TSG organization.

Collaborate with Maintenance leadership in Catlettsburg to provide oversight to hourly maintenance craft personnel stationed in the area.  Additionally, this position will provide oversight for 3rd party maintenance companies/contractors performing work on MPLX assets.

Will partner with Marine’s Safety Manager (located in Catlettsburg, KY) to champion all safety initiatives for all MPLS employees working in the US Gulf Coast Region.

This role requires approximately 30% travel.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.

(10) years of relevant work experience, preferred experience within maritime operations or logistics, and familiarity with all applicable US Coast Guard, OSHA, and EPA regulatory requirements.

Experience with government affairs or community relations is preferred.

Must have a valid driver's license.
