Job Scope
The Marine Coordinator guarantees ongoing adherence to global ship management and maritime norms whilst ensuring the upkeep of vessels, enhancing operational efficiencies and offering assistance to vessels to align with corporate and client goals and requirements.
Duties & responsibilities:
OPERATIONS Assisting and liaising with the Marine Superintendents in respect of mobilization and execution of the vessels charter and projects, managing clients’ inspections and monitoring the validity of vessels certificates Developing the necessary documentation for the vessel’s assignment and providing support to the vessel crew in respect of the safety of navigation and offshore operation & it's compliance with the company management system. Motivating ship's crew to ensure a pollution free environment, developing detailed work instructions and risk assessments where applicable, and managing the environmental issues on board. FINANCIAL CONTROL Ensures that all invoices relating to work orders from subcontractors accurately reflect the actual work carried out. Manages vessel operating budgets by managing all costs, expenses, disbursements and fees as they pertain to vessel operating costs. Manages allocated vessels’ monthly budget variance reporting and annual budget preparation. COMMUNICATION Maintains open channels of communication between all the departments and Clients. Circulates information on Company policy and technical data by helping to develop written instructions and issuing corporate approved memoranda on all aspects of Deck Management and maintenance of the vessels. Maintains and enhances the company professional image. LEGISLATION Complies with UAE and International relevant laws and regulations. Complies with STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, IMCA, OCIMF, ISGOTT and related maritime Standards and conventions as amended. Adheres to International best business and maritime practices.
Qualifications: Deck Officer (Certificate of competency) / preferably a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore marine operations, with at least 3 years in a coordination role. Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including SOLAS and IMO regulations. Valid offshore safety training certification such as BOSIET, HUET or equivalent.
