Manufacturing Technician III - ICON

As a Manufacturing Technician III - ICON, a typical day will include the following: 

Serve as a key point of contact for the planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of communication networks, both at ICON Lab and SEL offices. 

Mentor other technicians in the application of SEL design practices of OT systems. 

Own writing and conducting tests in support of department objectives, documenting and reporting malfunctions, and identifying/analyzing undesirable trends. 

Provide regular communication and timely reports to engineering staff, leadership, and customers regarding provisioning activities. 

Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace, implementing safe and environmentally sound work practices, and conducting safety training. 

Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. 

Understand, create, and simplify. 

Other duties as assigned. 

 

This role might be for you if you have: 

Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent certification, training and experience 

8+ years working experience in communication network system planning, design, testing, provisioning, operation and/or maintenance 

Proficiency in writing automated test plans for communication networks 

Knowledge of standards, codes and regulations specific to communication networks 

Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills 

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities 

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment 

Background with communication systems 

Background check results satisfactory to SEL 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Familiarity with SEL AMS and SEL protective relays 

Proficiency with industry protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus, C37.94, SEL Mirrored Bits, RSTP, Layer 2 Ethernet) 

Proficiency with AutoCAD, SEL 5051/5052, Albedo xGenius test set, strong Excel skills, and Python 

Ability to lead factory acceptance testing with customers during onsite and virtual visits

Pay Range Information:  

The pay range for this role is $30.23 – $46.67 per hour. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
