Caterpillar currently has an opening for an Manufacturing Technician I position supporting Reman Drivetrain located in the West Fargo, ND facility. This is an hourly position that will work as part of a team to develop new products and processes from conception to launch, as well as support existing processes, products, and equipment. Incumbent will assist in initiating CPS and Lean concepts, process gauging, contamination control, torque and leak-free assembly, quality systems and practices, process documentation, product specifications, PPAP, capital equipment, project development, material delivery, and safety. Caterpillar provides all tools and equipment to perform this job at no cost to the employee.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent requiredTwo-year tech school degree or equivalent experience preferredQualifications / Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in quality, inspection or machining preferredProven record of good attendanceBackground in MRP/ERP software systems as well as MS Office preferred; preference given to candidates with SAP knowledge and product knowledgeMust possess ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentKnowledge and Skills

General Tasks and Responsibilities
Use precision measuring devices to effectively inspect partsOperate machinery such as hand tools and air tools Backup for computerized inspection equipment such as FARO CMM and Faro Laser tracker to measure pivot shafts as requiredApply and correctly interpret reusability guidelines and determine disposition of materialsAssist in the development of reusability guidelines and work instructionsPerform incoming receiving inspectionPerform 1st article inspections on non-standardized partsAble to operate pallet jacks and other moving equipmentResponsible for identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessaryPerform 5S AuditsPerform Safety Stop Audits observations as requiredParticipate in the CI/PID ProcessAny duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shopFollow the Caterpillar Production System (CPS) Standard Work Sheets Other duties as assignedPeople Related Tasks and Responsibilities

Hourly Pay Range: $24.33 - $30.97 (salary negotiations to be offered based on skills/experience)2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium.Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays$2,000 sign on bonus. Summary Pay Range:
$24.33 - $30.97Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
