Your Role
As the Manufacturing Technician 3 with MilliporeSigma, your role is to support our Small Molecules product lines. You will work with other production scientists and operators, and SMEs to ensure successful manufacturing of an established line of products and troubleshoot and investigate process issues that arise. You will write and modify procedures consistent with quality guidelines and identify potential process improvements while interacting cross-functionally with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Packaging, Materials Management, Engineering and Maintenance. This position is based in St. Louis at 3500 Dekalb Street.
Responsibilities:
Safely perform operations to meet quality expectationsPerform multi-disciplined and established processesContribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal)Clean-up equipment and working areas during and after operationsCommunicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisorEnsure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current proceduresParticipate as needed in quality auditsPerform routine troubleshooting of equipmentIn compliance with change control procedures, improve processes through application of scientific knowledge, experience, and principlesParticipate in process improvements under the guidance of a supervisor or ScientistTake the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditionsSet-up and operate processing equipment ensuring operations are consistent with current operating proceduresReport equipment failures and work with repair personnel to correct problemsPerform routine analytical tests to ensure processes are in controlTransport chemicals and equipment to and from processes including use of pumps/piping, fork trucks, pallet jacks, or dolliesCoordinate appropriate disposal of waste and complete compliance documentation
Physical Attributes:
Wearing of personal protective equipment such as respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended periodsLifting and pushing up to 50 pounds
Day Shift- Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED2+ years of experience in life science manufacturing or laboratory work
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of college coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or other Science disciplineKnowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math, and general scienceFamiliar with laboratory instruments and production equipmentSafe chemical handling methods experienceGood communication skills, verbal and writtenMechanical skillsTroubleshooting skillsInterpersonal skillsOrganizational skillsRSREMD
