Your Role: 

As a Manufacturing Tech 1, your primary responsibility is to perform production procedures in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), resulting in a quality product at the Lenexa Dry Powder production facility. You will be responsible for gathering chemicals from storage locations and using designated weights to verify scales. You will also be responsible for scooping and dumping chemicals into containers up to 1,000 kg and placing finished containers on a scale to verify gross weights. The Manufacturing Tech 1 is also responsible for confirming materials and supplies are staged, using computer programs to capture production information, and complete batch record documentation. This role is responsible for label reconciliation, movement of products to finished goods storage, and quality checks to ensure the standards are met for SAFC products. This position is assigned a day or night 12-hour shift to ensure the plant has 24/7 support.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Use a computer and specialized program to capture production information; check related reports and complete related batch record documentationCheck rooms and equipment for cleanliness and damage prior to use. Locate formulated chemicals for charging into blenders. Setup and operate blenders, pin mill systems, nitrogen conveying systems, and CIP systems in accordance with required SOPsControl and monitor processes with an operator interface terminal (OIT). Set up and operate automated packaging equipment within specified tolerances. Report all unsafe working conditions or safety concerns through Medgate. Gown up and comply with all quality and PPE guidelines. Read and understand all written procedures as outlined in SOPs, Work Actively participates in Quality systems practices. Make recommendations for continuous process improvements; report equipment failures and any property damage to Supervisors immediately 

 

Physical Attributes:

Lift 5 pounds for a six-hour period.Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Maneuver and position mechanical components up to 50 pounds.Stand for 12-hour shift.Wear PPE at all times as required

  

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

 

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of manufacturing experienceAssociate's Degree in MaintenanceDry product processing and packaging experience
