**A** **bout IPSD**
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary:
Caterpillar in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a detail-oriented Tool Crib Manufacturing Specialist to support production operations through inventory control, tool tracking, and data management. This office-based role focuses on ensuring accurate documentation, tool availability, and system updates to keep production running smoothly. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage tool logistics, analyze data trends, and support process quality.
What you will do:
+ Track tools and parts using inventory management software
+ Maintain accurate records of tool usage, inventory levels, and quality control
+ Provide internal support by helping team members locate parts or equipment
+ Disburse and sign out parts using crib inventory systems
+ Support process testing and record any quality concern
+ Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics
+ Identify inventory trends and help improve crib organization and efficiency
+ Run reports, purchase tooling and reach out to suppliers
+ Perform any other assigned duties
**What you will have:**
+ Minimum of 6 months' experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certification
+ Ability to work well with others
+ Proficiency in working with hand tools
+ Familiarity with mechanical products and components
+ Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
+ Attention-to-detail and ability to identify non-conforming parts and investigate quality defects
+ Previous experience reading and interpreting part prints, schematics, and/or blueprints
+ Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint
+ Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
+ Ability to adhere to safety procedures
**What would make you a top candidate:**
+ Proficiency in WX Software
+ Strong Excel skills are a must (e.g., spreadsheets, tracking, formulas)
+ Experience with Item Catalog and NextGen
+ Preferred experience manipulating pivot tables and basic formula writing in excel
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Ability to interpret technical drawings
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
+ Ability to perform repetitive operations
+ Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$19.55 - $24.70
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
