JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering from a four-year college or university.
Minimum 3 years related work experience; automotive industry or global manufacturing company preferred. Experience in methods and times evaluations.
Time and standards experience with MTM 1 and Itemasoft software
Good organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet program milestones
Packaging knowledge a plus.
Professional and written communication skills essential
English and Spanish fluent level required
High experience in understanding manufacturing processes and quality systems
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Familiar with AutoCad, SAP, Access
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and implement improvements with plant manufacturing teams that reduce product cost, improve quality, and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Ensure the maximum safety, quality, and utilization of manufacturing processing equipment and processes.
• Continuously research and implement “best practice” manufacturing/processing methods and processes.
• Facilitate new product introductions and current product modifications in accordance with plant change management procedures.
• Review and quote processing and production equipment and tools.
• Ensure that effective documentation and control systems are developed, utilized, and maintained.
• Determine, justify, and coordinate the purchase and implementation of new equipment and processes jointly with the manufacturing teams. Track tooling and AR expenditures to ensure program budget is maintained.
• Assist in the design and assembly of manufacturing/assembly/processing equipment and processes.
• Resolve issues through robust problem solving methodology such as 8D, 5-why, etc.
• Coordinate or perform as needed machining, process diagnostic, maintenance, reports, calibrations, and operating procedures.
• Coordinate and perform special studies such as DOE’s.
• Review and make disposition on non-conforming product. Represent BorgWarner on related issues.
• Prepare and present presentations to customers, employees, and all levels of the management teams.
• Coordinate and manage outside contract projects related to manufacturing operations.
• Utilize a teamwork approach to achieve goals with particular emphasis on Product Teams and AQP Steering Committee activities.
• Provide technical leadership, training, and support to operations teams as well as to peers.
• Support plant Program Management on new product launches including manufacturing strategies, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
• Measure and analyze time spent by line operators with a specific method. Apply different control techniques like default timing and estimated times to develop the standard process.
• Implement and document the new production method with times and activities. Generate the necessary documentation such as time range, operative methods, and diagrams of routes for the work.
• Establish relationships with employee representatives to agree on methods, activities, and times. Attend and manage employee time and standard claims.
• Within his/her organization role and the management systems, has the responsibility and the Management required support for:
o Understand his/her roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System, and ensure the accomplishment of the applicable internal documented processes and procedures
o Understand the contribution of his/her performance within the assigned tasks and responsibilities to the accomplishment of the internal targets, and the impact of a nonconforming product or service provided to our customers
o Analyzing, communicating, evaluating and properly addressing nonconformities, risks and opportunities related to the processes under his/her responsibility or those on which he/she participates. When not possible-escalate them to his/her manager or supervisor
o Committing to our Quality Policy principles and objectives, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction focus.
