Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Quality Engineer that is a self directed problem solver to manage customer claims reduction projects, claim tracking,  and critical ISO systems at the Graphic’s Fairport Harbor Plant.  In this role, the successful candidate will help support site initiatives  to drive a world class quality culture at the Fairport site. You will work closely with the site engineering team and the broader divisional quality and commercial teams in Graphics to ensure issues affecting quality and customer satisfaction are identified and issues resolved.  

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Serve as the site corrective and preventative action (CAPA) coordinator to maintain ISO 9001:2015 standards and ensuring corrective actions address root cause to prevent recurrence

Maintain other aspects of the QMS (Quality Management System) as assigned

Maintain and improve reporting tools for critical quality metrics and site claim visibility to the manufacturing team

Lead Manufacturing Execution claim reduction projects to support the site and divisional quality strategies

Participate in daily and weekly MDI process and support quality related actions

Establish and assess quality testing standards and required frequencies based on risk and product requirements.

Analyze data trends to understand capability of critical to quality attributes measured in testing 

Provides training and quality support to the production areas as needed

Safety:

Practice all health and safety procedures, policies and practices.

Practice excellent housekeeping. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Participate in all required safety training and initiatives.  

Qualifications

2 or more years experience in a manufacturing plant either in quality or technical customer facing role 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent

Strong verbal and written communication skills  

Actively seeks knowledge, skills and experience in order to grow and develop

Good trouble-shooting/problem-solving and mechanical ability

Demonstrated problem-solving experience

Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment; encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal. 

Schedule flexibility to support operations as needed 

Proficient in Google and Microsoft Office 

Good statistical background with Minitab knowledge

Previous Quality or Process Engineering experience

Preferred Requirements 

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

Six Sigma Training or certification

Experience handling multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $92,601/ year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
