Job Description
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for owning and optimizing the manufacturing process to produce products that meet design specifications. This role requires engineering and improving manufacturing methods to ensure robust, repeatable, and capable processes.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and standards.Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.Design equipment and workspace layout for maximum efficiency.Collaborate with Product Engineering on design for manufacturing and assembly.Specify and purchase equipment for product assembly.Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for management decisions.Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and production schedules.Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks).Experience with MRP and Process Monitoring software.Ability to effectively present information to various stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to draw valid conclusions from data.Ability to interpret technical instructions in various forms.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology.5+ years of related experience desired.Experience with assembly equipment and automation.Automation/Robotic experience desired.Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.Experience with Plastic Injection molding preferred but not required.Familiarity with IATF, automotive standards, and TS.Experience in creating documentation for legacy and new parts.Work Environment
This role operates in an office setting, development lab/shop area, and manufacturing floor. It involves exposure to dust, oil, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic devices, and mechanically moving parts. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required on the manufacturing floor, with hearing protection needed in certain areas. The position is onsite five days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. There is flexibility in start and end times.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr.
