Job Description
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Battery Module at the Factory Zero. This position is vital for the successful launch and ongoing optimization of automated battery production systems. The engineer will focus on equipment commissioning, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives, adhering to Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) standards.
ResponsibilitiesCommission automated cells for battery module production, including integration with trades and suppliers.Provide technical support during installation, launch, and production ramp-up phases.Troubleshoot equipment and line issues, implementing timely and effective solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production flow and adherence to quality standards.Support the implementation of PFMEA, safety FMEA, and Process Control Plans.Contribute to Business Plan Deployment (BPD) activities and statistical process control efforts.Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.Essential SkillsManufacturing engineering experience in the automotive industry.Strong proficiency in root cause analysis.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments, preferably automotive or battery systems.Proficiency in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience at GM or similar Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).Exposure to battery module or electric vehicle component manufacturing.Willingness to work extended hours and multiple shifts as needed.Familiarity with Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS), PFMEA, and strong communication and collaboration skills.Work Environment
The role requires flexibility to work across all three shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) and a willingness to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays. The environment is dynamic and involves collaboration with various teams to achieve production goals.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $41.00/hr.
