Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Description

The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems within a production environment. The primary focus is to ensure that products are produced efficiently, effectively, and in line with quality standards. This role requires someone eager to work on the production floor and willing to engage in hands-on tasks, identifying problems and efficiencies and implementing improvements.

ResponsibilitiesDesigning and developing manufacturing processes for new products or enhancing existing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.Analyzing production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, implementing changes to optimize these processes.Selecting appropriate equipment, machinery, tools, supplies, and technologies required for manufacturing processes to achieve desired outcomes.Collaborating with quality control teams to ensure products meet established standards and implementing quality control measures.Identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or safety by optimizing supply usage, streamlining processes, or reducing waste.Creating and maintaining documentation related to manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality control documentation.Troubleshooting production issues, equipment malfunctions, or other challenges that could disrupt the manufacturing process.Collecting and analyzing data from production processes to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.Continuously seeking opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes by staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.Driving initiatives such as implementing 5S methodology, managing preventive maintenance, facilitating Kaizen Events, and optimizing tool life.Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines in manufacturing processes and addressing potential safety hazards.Training production staff on new processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.Managing projects related to process improvement, new product introduction, or facility upgrades.Collaborating on transitioning new products from prototype to full-scale production.Considering environmental factors and sustainability in manufacturing processes, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency.Essential Skills5+ years experience as Manufacturing/Process Engineer with expertise in developing, implementing, and optimizing machining manufacturing processes.10+ years experience in medical device, aerospace, or high tolerance precision machining.Experience working with CNC lathes, including programming capabilities.Proficiency in Esprit software, equipment selection, 3D CAD, and project management.Additional Skills & QualificationsContinuous improvement experience (lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen).Project management experience.Experience in equipment selection for manufacturing.3D CAD experience.Work Environment

The role offers consistency and stability in a growing business, with autonomy to bring ideas and solutions to life. The engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and work with a team of two other engineers. Typical working hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, with some flexibility to start earlier. Engineers average a 45-hour work week. The company specializes in the production of high-quality precision components, serving industries such as Aerospace, Medical, Agricultural, Oil/Energy/Fluid Power, Automotive, Lawn/Garden, and Sports/Leisure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $60.10/hr.
