Manufacturing Process Engineer

Description
+ Perform CNC capability studies on new Power unit Machining program on site.
+ Utilize machining process knowledge, particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
+ Lead equipment installation, power on, run capability, and equipment handover to the powertrain plants.
+ Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders.
+ Work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues.
+ Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging.
+ Support Simultaneous Engineering discussion with equipment OEM’s
+ Provide onsite support of MIDAS, Protag, and DCP launch tasks.
+ Ensure supplier processes for externally purchased components are aligned with internal requirements.
+ Initiate and Support Simulation Strategy to verify program assumptions for capacity and to lead actions to optimize the process and facilitate continuous improvements
+ Verify Factory Information Systems (FIS)
+ Coordinate MTO support plan with component suppliers to fulfill acceptance requirements for vendor and in-plant runoff/equipment acceptance and process capability.
+ Apply Global Early Sourcing Work Plan (GESWP) for tooling and gauging equipment and identify any exceptions to the ESWP for replicating existing technologies.
+ QC/layout inspection for new applications that replicates of existing technologies.
+ Support launch of all tool management systems into existing operations..
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software - AutoCAD.
- Understanding of machining processes, including CNC programming and operations.
- Knowledge of tooling design and facilities development
- Ability to design, analyze, and optimize production processes
- Innovative thinking to improve productivity and reduce waste
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
