Your Role

 

The Manufacturing Operator 3 at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Falls will manufacture and evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. The Operator will produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the demands and requirements of MilliporeSigma customers. Additional responsibilities include the following:

 

Recognizes and suggests corrective measures to process anomaliesParticipates in root cause investigations, offers suggestions, and assists in implementing formal Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)Writes and revises Standard Operating ProceduresDevelops and delivers training to new team members, and maintains accurate records of their progressProvides solutions to production/packaging questions and problemsMakes suggestions and participates in PDSA test cycles and significant “Just Do Its“ that result in measurable and sustainable improvementPerforms small scale experimentation as directed by authorized personnelLeads 6S/OPEX improvementsActively contributes to a positive safety, quality, and inclusive culture through voice and actionIndependently looks beyond individual assignments and willingly assists team members to improve departmental productivityIndependently develops and executes a daily work plan to best utilize time resourcesUse eTool to document deviations, observations, and improvements to MPRsKnowledge of relevant SAP functionsManufactures/Packages complex products that require advanced technique and skill setMember of cross-departmental initiatives, e.g. PDSA groups, site-wide training programs, ERT, Safety Committee, ErgonomicsShift: 1st shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, M-F

 

Physical Attributes:

 

Wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment “PPE” to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particlesLift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted and ability to push and pull heavy materials to complete assignments

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or GED5+ years of work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Associate Degree in Chemistry or other life science discipline or 2+ years of college chemistryKnowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math and general scienceFamiliar with laboratory instruments and production equipmentIndependent chemistry lab researchExperience with process techniques and unit operationsAnalytical techniques and equipmentSafe chemical handling methodsStrong communication skills, oral and writtenComputer skills and multitasking abilityChemical production experience on the glassware scale
