Your role:
At MilliporeSigma, the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor – 3rd Shift will supervise a staff of approximately 10-20 union employees in various job functions including Group Leader, Chemical Operator, and Chemical Filler. Job duties include:
Shift hours: Sunday – Thursday, 10:45pm – 7:15amManage production to meet production schedules in a safe and efficient mannerWork closely with Production Planning to assure that customer demands can be successfully achievedMaintain proper batch directions and equipment operating proceduresFunction as department liaison on Engineering projects impacting production processesAssure that personnel follow all procedures and proper documentation practicesMaximize productivity with an emphasis on quality control while minimizing costsEstablish and maintain effective communications with employees and other departments such as Production Planning, QC, and Maintenance
Physical Attributes:
Stand for long periods, use a computer terminal, climb stairs and ladders, and walk significant distances
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations, and other Life Science discipline
AND
1+ years of experience in a chemical plant or similar industryAND
3 + years of operational and business experience
Preferred Qualifications
Technically competent in Distillation processes with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may ariseKnowledgeable of chemical hazards, chemical processes, chemical hazard classifications and a thorough knowledge of operating safely within an explosion proof environmentExperience in blending and down filling processes and proceduresSupervision experience of direct labor employees in a union environmentStrong computer skills including SAP, Excel, Access, Outlook, and ManGoExperience with production equipment, manufacturing scheduling and pressure vesselsExcellent organizational, documentation and communication skills
