The Powertrain Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all Powertrain manufacturing operations, including Drive Unit, and Power Electronics. This leader will ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective production that meets daily company delivery targets. The role requires strong shop-floor presence, rapid problem-solving, and the ability to align night shift operations with day shift leadership priorities.
You Will
End-to-End Oversight: Lead night shift operations across all Powertrain areas (Battery, Drive Unit, Power Electronics). KPI Accountability: Deliver SQDCP targets across safety, quality, throughput (JPH), OEE, scrap cost, and delivery to GA. Shift Leadership & Alignment: Act as the senior operations leader on-site during night shift, ensuring seamless communication and handoff with day shift teams. Reliability & Problem Solving: Drive root-cause analysis and structured problem solving (5-Why, PFMEA, 8D, etc.) to sustain uptime and reduce chronic failures. Team Development: Mentor and coach supervisors, team leads, and hourly staff to ensure engagement, discipline, and adherence to standards. Cross-Shop Coordination: Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, TPM, IE, and Quality teams to resolve issues quickly and keep production running smoothly. Standardization: Enforce consistent processes and ensure that changes, updates, and best practices are implemented uniformly across all PWT lines. Safety & Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with company and regulatory standards during night shift.You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field (preferred). 8+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, with 3+ years in a leadership role. Proven track record of delivering production KPIs in safety, quality, throughput, and cost. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, problem-solving methodologies, and equipment reliability. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in automotive, aerospace, or other advanced manufacturing preferred.
