Manufacturing Manager

CEIS | Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Manufacturing Manager 1 to support the PT-2 Machining Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This role plays a critical part in executing precision manufacturing operations tied to the production and refinement of nuclear components. The selected candidate will work alongside First Line Managers (FLMs) to support strategic planning, scheduling, and technical execution of manufacturing activities involving specialized materials such as plutonium and uranium.

This position requires a blend of leadership, operations oversight, and tactical execution—focused on upholding Conduct of Operations (ConOps), Conduct of Maintenance (CoM), and LANL’s rigorous safety and compliance protocols. The Manufacturing Manager will also be expected to temporarily serve as Acting FLM during periods of absence.

Key Responsibilities

Support First Line Managers (FLMs) in achieving operational and production goals through tactical work planning, safety briefings, and skill development.

Conduct routine and task-specific pre-job briefings for production teams to reinforce safety, procedural compliance, and mission alignment.

Monitor and ensure adherence to Conduct of Operations principles in a nuclear manufacturing environment.

Act as a point of technical contact for issue resolution, work package execution, and safety assessments.

Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are identified, implemented, and tracked to closure.

Maintain clear and proactive communication with stakeholders to report status, risks, and opportunities.

Serve as Acting FLM as needed, providing direction, supervision, and coordination for daily operations.

Prioritize safety and security as core components of every task, with the authority to stop work if necessary.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership and experience in technical oversight, mentoring, and team development in a manufacturing or nuclear facility environment.

Proven ability to support the tactical execution of work activities, from planning to close-out, in a regulated environment.

Familiarity with formality of operations and experience implementing Conduct of Operations in complex facilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.

High attention to detail, organizational acumen, and adaptability to evolving priorities.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical/management experience directly related to the role.

DOE Order 426.2 Compliance: Position requires a High School Diploma and 3 years of nuclear experience. Formal academic training may be substituted on a one-for-one basis for 2 of the 3 years.

Desired Qualifications

Hands-on experience executing or managing operations within DOE high-hazard or nuclear facilities.

Working knowledge of authorization basis, radiological controls, and safety basis implementation.

Demonstrated success leading team members through complex technical scopes, including manufacturing and machining tasks.

Proficiency in resource planning, cross-functional coordination, and workforce scheduling.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, LANMAS, Outlook, and nuclear work management systems.

Ability to lead by example, make sound judgments under pressure, and engage teams in continuous improvement initiatives.
