The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Manufacturing Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: + Ensuring all EHS aspects are inputs to value stream improvement plans to drive safe & sustainable value streams (waste/water/energy reduction, MOC, etc.) + Focusing on customer satisfaction through value stream improvement: meeting customer milestones, quality deliverables (PPU, COPQ, RTT & DPPM), RM supplier management and improvement, customer visits & interactions and executing plans to work with all key customers. + Bringing plant-specific intelligence into to the LVS strategy deployment and ensuring Plant/Area/Global alignment on the priorities back into the local value stream improvement plan. Translate vision and strategy into tactics within the plant value stream organization & plant value stream execution in conjunction with operations. Supervising value stream leaders and engineers, providing development opportunities and + coaching to ensure goals are aligned and impactful. Driving improvement in product unit costs, operation expenses, & P&L results for plant value streams through LSS and 3M Ex methodologies. + Understanding and driving CapEx discussions to ensure long term success with capacity, + productivity, and technology enhancements + Developing strong, harmonized working relationships with site functions and partner divisions to ensure consistency, operational excellence, and business alignment. Representing the site with external clients and internal business, division, & area stakeholders. Participating as a key member of the Hutchinson Plant Operating Committee Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution + Seven (7) years of manufacturing plant experience in a private, public, government or military environment + Five (5) years of management experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: + Master's degree or higher in a technical discipline (Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relative discipline form an accredited institution. + Supervisory/Management experience in a manufacturing/production environment in a private, public, government or military environment + Results oriented and strong execution skills with demonstrated track record within operational performance metrics (EHS, Quality, Service, Growth, and Cost) + Demonstrated success leading discussions with customers (internal and external to 3M) + Strong team skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrix organization + Lean Six Sigma Black Belt experience + Knowledge and understanding of Shingo principles or principle based leadership Travel: May include up to [10%][domestic/international] Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
