Manufacturing Manager
_239 69th Avenue, Meridian, MS, USA_ | _Salary_ | _Full Time_ **Summary** The Manufacturing Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the production floor to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and compliance with the company's policies and production goals. This role is responsible for leading production teams, managing schedules, monitoring workflow, and ensuring the timely delivery of products within budget. **Essential Job Duties** + Supervise and coordinate daily production activities and staff across both shifts through the area supervisors. + Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures, and foster a culture of safety. Exceeding safety standards should be the standard. + Train, mentor, and evaluate production employees; coach supervisors on positive employee relations and participate in hiring, coaching, and performance management. + Ensure all production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and cost efficiency without compromising safety. + Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, logistics, and other departments to resolve production issues and optimize workflow while meeting disruptions or changes with a positive approach and motivate the production team to meet those challenges. + Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to support production continuity. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, productivity, and waste reduction. + Maintain accurate production records, prepare performance reports, and communicate results to the leadership team. + Ensure equipment is properly maintained for safe operation, and coordinate with maintenance for repairs or upgrades. + Promote a high-performance team environment and strong employee engagement. + Adhere to and uphold all Fairbanks Scales policies and procedures. **Required Qualifications** - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.) + Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or related field. + A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least two years of direct supervisory experience of manufacturing staff. + Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and quality systems. + Proficient in production software systems and Microsoft Office Suite. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -** May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Working knowledge of welding, fitting, and machining. Familiarity with industrial painting processes is advantageous. + Strong organizational skills and time management abilities with competing multiple priorities. + Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of internal teams and vendors. + Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to adapt quickly. + Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in documents and records. + Excellent leadership using a positive and motivational style. + Eagerness to grow professionally and learn new skills. + Positive attitude and solution-focused mindset even under time constraints or pressure to deliver. **Work Environment** - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. + General Manufacturing environment including regular exposure to loud and distracting noises, outdoor climate and weather fluctuations, including temperature, humidity, rain, etc., dust, uneven ground, exposure to hazardous equipment, and contaminants. + May require weekend hours depending on production demands. **Physical Abilities -** Activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. + Required to use close vision and be able to focus and visually determine shapes and colors, inspect products including color variation, read small gauges and displays. + Regularly required to talk and hear audible signals and warnings from machines, equipment, and plant warning systems. + Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on machine controls or computer to program machines. + Ability to lift heavy equipment and loads up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. + Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, climb stairs and ladders, sit, and stand or walk for long periods of time (up to 10 hours per shift). + Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and finger movement, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination to work on computers and machine controls. + Ability to don personal protective equipment in posted areas as required, including safety boots with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, hearing protection, welding goggles and hoods, fall prevention equipment, gloves based on tasks, and more as posted. + Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
