Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Cerrowire is leading the copper wire cable industry in product innovation, working to resolve customer issues to make their field work efficient. In business for over 100 years, continuing to grow and expand. The type of equipment on which you work varies on new and aged equipment, extruders, wire drawing, jacketing, wiring lines.  As a maintenance technician, you will repair heavy machinery, maintain electrical equipment, and control panels. Core Responsibilities:

Always follow all required safety standards and procedures.

Must have a customer service-oriented approach to working with production.

Always follow required environmental standards and procedures.

Repairs and maintains all facility machinery and mechanical equipment through preventative maintenance and problem-solving skills.

Works with outside vendors and contractors to initiate and implement equipment and facility repair on an as needed basis.

Utilizes analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills to examine, repair and/or detect issues with machinery or equipment for repair.

Inspects, observes, and examines mechanical devices in operation to determine root cause of problem and if necessary, dismantles or adjust devices to repair to specifications.

Provides recommendations or modifications to processes and procedures and collaborates with other maintenance mechanics to increase machine efficiency & up time.

Prioritize daily activities to ensure completion of responsibilities and to keep the facility running.

Performs preventative maintenance on the facility and equipment.

Willing to work extra hours as required to finish repairs and put equipment back into service.

Clean up and put away tools, parts, etc., at the completion of each job.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Interpreting engineering blueprints

Completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements

Installing industrial machinery

Observing mechanical devices in operation to locate the sources of problems and ensure the proper functioning of the machines.

Running basic diagnostic tests to detect minor problems.

Troubleshooting engines, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic and electrical equipment

Disassembling machinery and equipment when needed.

Removing defective components and replacing them with new ones

Adjusting and calibrating machinery to improve productivity.

Cleaning and lubricating the equipment and machinery.

Maintaining a safe and clean working environment for everyone

Collecting and summarizing analyses, activity logs, and trends for maintenance reports

Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.

PM building and execution

Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.

Must have in-depth knowledge and electrical skills.

Must have in-depth knowledge and ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical, machining, hydraulics, building maintenance schematics.

Previous maintenance experience with industrial production systems, plumbing, control systems, welding, fabrication, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to operate standard shop equipment, Power/Hand Tools, Measuring Equipment and Test Equipment such as a voltmeter.

Ability to pay exceptional attention to detail and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively under deadline pressures while following direction and completing assignments accurately and on time.

Basic computer skills and PLC knowledge.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of personnel.

Continuous Improvement mindset. Willing to be innovative and take a forward-thinking approach to problem solving.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

Apprenticeship or associate degree preferred or certificate of training to demonstrate qualifications.

3-5 years minimum experience as a maintenance technician in manufacturing.

Must supply own tools/meter/lockable toolbox.

Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
