Manufacturing Lean Support Engineer (Temporary)

What you will experience in this position: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for a **6–9 month temporary position** supporting our Manufacturing Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and sustaining engineering efforts, with a focus on process improvement in our Molding Area. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while applying Lean principles to drive meaningful change across our operations. + Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support the implementation of lean manufacturing and business process improvements. + Contribute to the optimization of engineering plans and solutions to meet key performance goals. + Promote a lean culture by collaborating across business areas to drive actions aligned with Future State Plans. + Learn and apply Lean tools in the Molding Area, including Standard Work, Ergonomics, 3P, TPM, SMED, KANBAN, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S. + Assist in performing process reviews and help establish standardized work procedures to improve efficiency and consistency. + Work collaboratively in a highly team-oriented environment that values communication and employee involvement. + Participate in Lean audits, 5S activities, and daily GEMBA walks to monitor and support process execution. + Help coordinate and provide updates on action plan progress to support continuous improvement initiatives. **You have:** + Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. + Proven experience through academic projects, internships, or coursework involving manufacturing systems, Lean principles, or process improvement. + A willingness to learn Lean tools and methodologies and a strong problem-solving approach. + Collaborate effectively in teams and handle physical demands in a manufacturing setting, like walking, standing, lifting, and adapting to environmental conditions. **WE HAVE:** + A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day + nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
