Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerospace structures.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Manufacturing Lead will be responsible for day-to-day manufacturing operations at the NDS Mesa facility, Plant 2 location. The position will report to the area Supervisor or Manager. The position of Manufacturing Lead will be assigned a group of specific operations in which they will oversee and work to become the subject matter expert. The candidate will be responsible for reporting manufacturing performance for their work cell, directly train and assist in the coordination/scheduling of training activities, oversee build progress, maintain safety and quality standards, and work directly on the manufacturing line to build product as needed to cover personal breaks, absences, meet production rate, increase capacity, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strictly follow safety regulations and help ensure all employees act and think safely.
• Become the manufacturing subject matter expert for associated work cells.
• Review production master schedule and assign department workers to tasks.
• As needed, lead daily department meetings, and assign required production work.
• Ensure workers are properly trained in accordance with company SOPs, Policies, and Work Instruction.
• Ensure production documentation is always accurate.
• Monitor and maintain availability of documentation, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Setup and teardown workstations in support of manufacturing jobs. Ensure equipment and machines are properly set up and conduct minor repairs.
• Ensure established production rates and efficiency standards are met.
• Ensure production facilities are properly maintained.
• Foster a continuous improvement culture by documenting and implementing improvement ideas.
• Monitor performance of department employees and provide Supervisor with documentation of positive and negative behaviors.
• Generate maintenance work orders, as needed.
• Troubleshoot production issues as they come up.
• Follow standard practices and safety procedures.
• Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• 5 or more years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain BATF clearance to work with our products.
• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Proven experience in motivation and training of subordinates.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to solve problems and provide input for performance reviews.
• Capacity to read and interpret procedures accurately and to provide related guidance to subordinates.
• Effectively present information to peers and respond to questions from others including the management team and customers.
• Stand or sit for extended periods of time. Lifting 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work overtime, as required.
