We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.
Overview:
You will be responsible for manufacturing capability, continuity, and continuous improvement. This includes documentation and performance measurement of manufacturing processes, improvements to production lines, fixture design, ergonomics, IT/OT connectivity and digitalization, automation, and tooling management.
Responsibilities:
Plans and executes improvements when given a problem statement, focusing on deploying new solutions at a single point in the process, validating, then scaling. Communicates and cooperates with Quality, EHS, production management, supply chain management, and finance to identify problems, bottlenecks, and potential solutions. Analyzes manufacturing processes, including time study, process mapping, and ergonomic analysis, using relevant data and/or determining means of data acquisition if necessary. Identifies the technical details of desired solutions by researching and engaging with the Siemens global network of factory digitalization and automation experts. Supports the sustainment of breakthrough improvements by developing visual controls, documented standards, and process checks to provide reinforcement. Provides fast response to the production team members when an urgent issue arises causing downtime and/or blocking the normal flow of production. Contributes to installation projects onsite and support accountable Industrial Engineers. Supports maintenance of technical documentations of processes and equipment. Ensures that solutions can be scaled after successful point deployment, actively working with Industrial Engineers on the scaling, maintenance, and sustainment plan. Work with Quality management team to ensure appropriate quality control processes are implemented across the different product lines.You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to measure, design/specify and install production fixtures and equipment At least 2 years in a manufacturing environment Associates degree in a technical or engineering field AutoCAD or similar Ability to make diagrams of processes and present new concepts for evaluation and decisionPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with computer programming and/or database management Experience simulating manufacturing systems and processes Practical experience training others on Engineering topics including Bill of materials, Engineering drawings, equipment and tooling usage and maintenance, and safety. Proficiency in data collection and analysis Lean manufacturing techniques Experience with SAP or similar MRP system Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical EngineeringYou’ll benefit from:
