Manufacturing Engineering Tech III

Position Description

·       Mechanical Engineer will help coordinate and organize production process methods and engineering activities that enable production. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.

 

Essential Job Functions

·       Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for, and as an integral part of, all new product introductions and product enhancement programs, using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, and Lean Six Sigma Methodology

·       Assumes responsibility for Capital planning, CER creations and Approvals, Capital Project Timing and Implementation, Capital Spending and Budgeting/ Assumes responsibility for Plant VA/VE Savings

·       Ensures all equipment meets OSHA compliant safety regulations

·       Drives engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including: PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean Tools, Project Management and Simultaneous Engineering

·       Manages, develops and improves manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.

 

Education, Experience & Skills

 

·       High school diploma

·       18 years or older

·       Attention to detail

·       Experience in warehouse manufacture environment

·       Prior experience with Oracle preferred but not required

·       Experienced with computers and Warehouse Software

·       Forklift experience minimum of 1-2 years

 

Physical Requirements

·       Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.  Mobility within the work facility.

·       Ability to stand 8-10 Hours daily

·       Ability to bend, lift, reach and turn throughout the shift.

·       Ability to distinguish colors (Not color Blind) due to need to determine temperature visually

·       Visual Accuity for aligning and determine proper alignment.

·       Ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly.

·       Ability to lift 40+Lbs repeatably through the shift

·       Breaks are Formalized, Scheduled and regulated due to the interconnectivity of the assembly line

·       This will be a Tobacco Free Facility (No Smoking, No Chewing tobacco, No Smokeless pouches, No Vaping
